In memory of Laraine Allen

To my beautiful mum, it would have been your 70th birthday today and I’m sure you would have been more beautiful and vibrant than ever.
We miss you so much and it’s hard to believe it’s been 10years, so much has happened but I hope you would be really proud of how we are doing. You made us tough and I’m trying my best to be as good a mum as you, which is a pretty high standard! I hope I’m doing ok.
You certainly have a couple of gorgeous grandkids. Emmy knows her nanny and you will always be part of her life and Alfred will get to know his nanny in time.

You loved Christmas so much and made it so special for us as a family, I miss those times with you. I’m playing your favourite songs and thinking of you now and always.
I talk to Emmy about you and she knows who her nanny is and says you are beautiful! She’s right - the most beautiful person inside and out.

It's 9 years ago this month that you left us Laraine. I think of you every day. There were so many more things we wanted to experience together. I miss your voice, your laugh, your funny little ways, your touch, your resilience and your love for us all. Sometimes I get both sad and angry on what you have missed but I still have those great memories of the amazing things we did together as a family with Christian and Kirsty and then the two of us. From just doing the simple things like walking and chatting and laughing to the incredible travelling we did together far and wide. They say grief breaks your heart and eventually heals but it always leaves scars. You are Laraine forever in my heart of scars xxx

Just a little note to you Laraine - to let you know you on mother's day how missed you are and what an amazing and beautiful mum and wife you were to us and nanny you would have been to Emmy who is your incredible legacy. I had a walk to our little church in Hemley and then down towards the river. The scenery was stunning and we shared this often together. Always in our thoughts and memories cherished.
